DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, Railroader, 17J, Model 1888, 16S, gold-filled original HC with attractive engraving detail including a small house scene at center rear, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, spiral pattern nickel damascene, s#7066989. The Railroader is very rare in this hunting case Model 1888 version.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running after a sluggish start, winding mechanism skipping occasionally, overhaul recommended, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, small "1200x" marking scribed to plate surface above s#, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere with the most prominent radiating from the case screw area, marring around stem detent screw, some small dark spots to train bridge, mild oxide to steelwork; dial with crudely patched edge chipping between 8 and 9, hl near 7:30, hls at 3:30, small edge hl at 9, small surface nick near 7, some edge flakes under bezel; fine hands, oxide to minute tip, finish loss to portions of seconds-hand; case shows light wear, no dents or dings, reduced engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
